Did We Miss You!
Hello and welcome to our 2020-2021 school year. I want to start by extending a huge thank-you to our Busby families and community members. The kindness, compassion and patience you have demonstrated has allowed our staff to focus on developing our new procedures and routines. It’s these new routines that will help keep our students and staff safe through this coming year. It has been wonderful to sit with the staff each night, and share the growth we have seen in our students over the past five months. We missed your kids so incredibly much. School was just not the same without them.
We want to say thank you to our amazing Parent Advisory Council for treating the staff to a catered lunch last Wednesday. After a whirl-wind of planning it was so nice to sit as a staff, share an amazing meal and a few laughs in anticipation of welcoming our students back.
Our parent council has also been busy producing “Ear Savers” for our grades 4-6 students. These snap straps take the elastic pull off of our students ears, creating a more comfortable mask fit. We will be sending a couple of these home with each one of our grade 4-6 students. If you are interested in some for younger students, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email.
Terry Fox Run
On September 18th the entire school will be participating in the Terry Fox run. A number of volunteers will be needed to populate the route to keep our kids safe. If you have the morning of September 18th available and are interested in helping out please contact Leane Maguire 780.266.4259
Last but DEFINITELY not least
I want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our staff. Getting ready for any new school year is a task in itself but with our new safety measures and additional planning the work load has intensified. Our phenomenal teachers and support staff have worked tirelessly to ensure Busby remains a wonderful and safe learning environment for all of our students. As their principal, they make me proud to be a part of such a great team.
